There are a few aftermarket fender choices out there. Carbon fiber, J's Racing 20mm, and a bunch of ricer widebody kits.
I want something different, Then again I always want to be different. So, i have came to the conclusion that i will make my own.
I will be making widebody style front fenders. Hoping the end product will look something like this.
They wont stick out that far but they will be open vented as shown, minus the crazy shit going on at the bottom.
Here is the drawings I came up with. The vented gap will be about 1 inch.
I will be modifying the oem fenders into them. Once complete I will make a mold and make a set out of fiberglass.
If all goes well i will be making another custom duckbill wing to fit to my collection.
Let the journey begin.
sick design! really looking forward to seeing the turn out :D and if you make another duckbill what you gonna do with the other one? ...you should sell it to me :P
I will be keeping the old duckbill cause i'm a horder lol
Those are old picture. I have a jdm front with lip and fenders in there now and some much more.
The new duckbill i will be working on in the future will be like the mugen one, but all filled in. Thats the thing i hate about this duckbill, that it is to straight IMO.
You are my hero! Im interested in the fender. Will they have vents like the J's Racing ones?
Fuck. Yes.
If you ever make more than one set, I would love to get my hands on them.
I like the J's Racing fenders, but I feel like the side vent ruins it. So, it will be solid but vented on the door side.
I'm hoping to make 3 at the most. Since the base with be made out of fiberglass, I'm hoping to have a Carbon fiber set, Kevlar set, and a paint matching set. We will see once the mold is made on if i will produce for others.
So an update on the fenders. I only had about and hour to work on the driver side today.
I pulled the lip out and roughly formed it for the wide fender flare.
You can see i pulled the body line out of the fender from the middle towards the end. I left the line towards the front so it will still line up with the front bumper smoothly.
Next weekend I will do the same to the passenger side. I hope to extend and shorten the brackets that will provide the vent, and grind off the fender lining mounting points.
Can't wait to see these fenders.........
