I take it you mean a shift knob, if so just unscrew it and put a new one on.
If you mean the boot around the shifter, then I'm not sure, but I would like to see a leather boot on there.
i want to get a new knob for my si but i dont know how to aproch the boot issue has any one done it

I've got a MOMO shifter. It's silver and matches the trim perfectly. I tryed putting it on one day and it wasn't a hassle at all. The problem is finding a way to attach the silver clip, at the end of the rubber shift boot, into the knobs end. They just don't meet up right. We may have to wait for an aftermarket boot. Aparently DC Sports is making a short shifter.
in a couple of mags ive seen knobs on and they put some sort of rubber piece in the silver thing and it lookeed realy good but i dont know what it was
and guys i know how to put a knob on plz
i tried to put on a Spoon Sports shift knob but the boot didnt line up like you stated, so i took it back and i'm gonna wait until someone comes out with a diff shift boot.
I have a momo shift knob also. It's chrome with a red grip. looks pretty good, but there'e a small gap between the shift knob and the shift boot where you can kinda see the shifter. Doesn't look too bad though. I want to get the type R shift knob. I'll post pics of my car fairly soon.
ok i made it work its alsome what i did is i bought a shock bushing and cut it to fit the silver piece so it holds the boot upagenst the knob its like a rubber cork with a hole in the middle it looks stock ill send pics use aim gunrunnerpl

Rocket_Civic...."They are the moron Brothers! don't get along with others!" LOL
the type-r has a space between the knob and boot also, weird, I'd like to see how it looks with no space at all.
Sorry, I can't get the pictures to work.
Pics, used a sleeve from an older shift boot.
SWEET! Perfect! How'd you do it?
I used a rubber sleeve with a zip tie under the shift boot. This keeps the boot from sliding down when shifting. Hope this helps.
Is that a carbon fiber dash? How'd you get that?
