Question Stock Radio Amp Hook Up

Has anyone hooked up an amp to the stock radio? If so did you get distortion ( noticable ) or was it ok. Second question is there an adapter to the stock wire harness so no cutting has to be done and can convert the output into an RCA jack so you can hook up a sub. Any info would be appreciated.

By the way I did a search nothing came up I remember see something on this subject before a while ago.
    Thanks

What you need is a line-out converter all you do is splice it into your back speakers and it gives you rca outputs I originally did this and ran a JL microsub 8.1 it sounded really good. I tried to run my mids and highs like that also but they sounded like arse. I would highly recommend getting an aftermarket CD player. I bought an Eclipse 3403 for $188 and it sounded so much better I couldnt believe it. Hope that answered your question feel free to ask any more
