wtf is that shit?! What kind of cleaner is this???
So I wash my wife's car today and have a bad experience with this new "tri-color" cleaner that is supposed to make the car look all shiny. Well...turns out it stained most of the car blue and everything else it touched! Needless to say I am looking for a new paint job or at least a professional wax job to see if that gets it off.
:'(

I've never heard of it, what cleaner is it?
Steve
Try using Meguiars Scratch X, it will take off just about any buildup, or crap thats on ur paint!!!
I'm sure it'll come off it you buff it out with some good oxidation wax. keep us posted
Try some sort of glaze or paint cleaner like 3M or Meguiar's.
I don't think you get it. The car wash company is liable and my wife's car needs a new paint job anyways...so...I'll let them figure it out. There was a guy there cleaining the car wash up. So of course I tell him. He comes over and said "looks like you might need a paint job". He tries to wash it off just to make sure, and it didn't really go away. So he puts up paper signs that warn people that the tri-color is not working. He also said "I was trying to reach our mechanic because the tri-color was coming out like ink".
The stuff is called "tri-color conditioner" "apply to all painted surfaces for added protection"

That's what I was getting at, whether it was something at the car wash, or something else. I would definitely say the car-wash is liable in this case.
Ohhhh, I didn't realize that you were somewhere applying their stuff.
Wow, that'll be good to get a new paint job out of it.
Steve
damn that sucks to hear that, thats why i always wash my car in my driveway with well known cleaner. I would hate that to happen to my EP! good luck --damn that sucks-joe
That really sucks. Mostly all the car washes here use the tri-color polish. I guess I am going to have to be reall carefull on where i get my car washed. Hope everything works out for you........
I would try washing w/ simple green diluted and then using mothers 3 step, 2 cleaners and carnuba wax...that may help at least its worth a try.
Reason number 1,001 why I avoid those places like the plague. Unless it's just to spray salt off, I never use those places.
Good luck getting it worked out though. I hope they cover it all.
Just an update...they washed, waxed and polished the car and it looks good!
Glad it worked out for you.
