Cool thats good info to know!!
updating...in progress
This thread is intended to shed light on the whole Hondabond misinformation. Despite what you may or may not have been told, Hondabond is NOT used in most the applications/installations you may think it is. In fact, I am having a hard time finding any situation it is called for. In my experience, Hondabond is more for sealing threads on bolts rather than really sealing two mating surfaces.
Almost all cases where a liquid sealant is used, Ultraflange II sealant should be employed. Know the differences! It could mean the difference between oil staying in, or leaking out, of your engine.
When in real doubt, ask first or use ultraflange, not Hondabond. The service manual is the final word on which is correct for any given application. If you find applications not listed below, please post them and i'll update as necessary.

Note: Permatex "The Right Stuff for Imports" gasket maker can be used in place of UltraflangeII if unavailable

The parts department at my honda says the mechanics use Hondabond on gaskets. They don't even sell or know what ultra flange is. Very few dealers in Houston sell this, and its not that popular online.
Lots of people have used the ones off shelf and they work just fine.

Great write up, even though I used Permatex Ultra Grey (??) seems to have sealed off the oil pan great, looks even better then the factory seal.

I have used honda bond and it works great I have not had one leaking problem just torque thebolts down in the right order and to the specks in the honda manual.
I'm gonna have to disagree with the OP. Not to be a douche but because I have some new information.
Hondabond and Ultraflange can be used interchangeably on the oil pan, cam chain case, auto-tensioner case, etc.
These pictures are taken from my 04-06 TSX Helm Manual and a Hyper Rev Vtec Tune.
In Jimmy's Defense, I can see where everything is misleading. I'm guessing he has the same PDF Manuals that I have for the 02-03 EP and the 02-03 RSX. I checked them and they only list the part number for the UltraFlange 2.
All of the Helms manuals that I have state to use 08178-0009 UltraflangeII only. And all my manuals are actual printed manuals, not pdf's(with all current revisions), and as far as "Hyper Rev Vtec Tune" that is not any official Honda manual.

Printed manual here as well (PDF is just a copy of that anyway)
Most likely Honda has been trying to phase out the Ultraflange II and simultaneously beef up the performance of Hondabond HT.
For me, Ultraflange holds better so I go with that.
I'll try popping into some dealerships and asking the old guys what's up with this new info.

This is my printed TSX manual that I bought maybe a month or two ago brand new from Helm Inc.
The reason I referred to the PDF manuals is because I checked my 02-03 EP3 and 02-03 RSX manuals in PDF format and they only listed the Ultra Flange part number.
I was actually at my local dealership a few weeks ago speaking with the parts manager and he said that, after the first of the year, Honda dropped a ton of chemicals out of their chemical catalog. They were only listing the part number for the Hondabond (08718-0001) and none of the others.
