i say save your money and put it towards getting those rims that you want later.
IM thinking about getting my stock rims powder coated black for the time being.I want to get nice volk or enkei wheels down the road but it will b nice to have some black stockies anyway because in the upstate ny winters im not running my aftermarket wheels in the snow, slush, and salt.
Anyhow, is powdercoating the most durable paint job i can get on my rims?Or is there a better more durable way to go when painting your stock wheels?

I agree power coating is not that cheap.
if you have a powder kit (About $200) a place to use harsh strippers (Toxic fumes) and a used oven big enough for a rim, (NOT FOR FOOD) then maybe a DIY. Otherwise just save for the wheels, or perhaps find used ones in good condition.
yeah i agree with everyone else.. save the money and get the rims you want.
powdercoating isn't cheap. (sorry, im from canada though, not sure what the pricing is for you US guys)
if this is just temporary, why not spend the 20$ on wheel paint and some sand paper? will look fine and wont cut majorly into your future wheel budget.
