What does the tag on the compressor housing say? I'll look up the specs at work.
Any one know anything on these turbos? I've came across a K27 Borg Warner turbo off of a trackor. I'm aware if I go this route that I will be needing a custom exhaust manifold, but will this turbo flow well with a 2.0l or 2.4l as I'm not sure what path I'm taking right now.
What does the tag on the compressor housing say? I'll look up the specs at work.
It says "5327 101 3060 C" on the compressor housing
and "5327 101 6573 q 15" on the turbine housing
Thanks lots for looking this up.
the borg-warner extended tip turbos are great! my roommate runs the Bullseye Power BW S256 .55 A/R on his 2006 RSX-S. this kit for the car was completely fabbed by a local shop here and the motor is all stock internals. they tuned on a dyno dynamics dyno using k-pro. he puts down 398.8whp/~276 wtq @ 10 psi. he was running a Precision GT 32/51 before and was only making around 350 whp@10psi. the turbo is smooth and he is at full boost by 2500-2600 rpm. plus those turbos have an anti-surge cover built onto them as well which hels a ton. after driving his car with both turbos and seeing some other numbers on cars the shop has done with the BW turbos, i am sold. once i do go turbo down the road, i will be using this snail for sure. there is some info on http://www.carterrace.com if you want to check it out. and they have a link to the bullseye power website as well. might help you get some more info on what you are looking for.
No problem. I walked in to work this morning and first thing was a K27 waiting for a quick analysis. I thought it was a fun coincidence. When I get a chance I'll look it up and post the information this evening.
Yes they are. But the K27 is not an extended-tip turbo.

Okay. You gave me the p.n. for the actual compressor cover which, although it does narrow down the possibilities, doesn't tell me which K27 you have. I need the turbo p.n. off of the tag on the compressor housing (hopefully yours didn't get removed). There should be a blue tag just below the air outlet. If you don't have the tag, we don't have the turbo p.n. and I'm afraid I can't be much help. But if you do, give me the number on the very last line. It should read "AUSF.-NR. 5327......."

doh i see now where it came off of a tractor.
It's off a New Holland 7.48-liter tractor that makes 155 hp at 2200 rpm.
Compressor wheel is a 76mm, 50 trim, almost identical to the Garrett T04E 50 trim. I don't know what kind of horsepower you want to make, but you have a pretty good compressor for around 300 hp on either the K20 or the K24 (although it's a slightly better match for the 2.0).
But it's a 7.48-liter diesel turbo, so the exhaust side is a little bit too big. The housing A/R is about 0.6 but the exhaust wheel is a 70mm, 81 trim, kind of between the largest T3 exhaust wheel and the smallest T4 exhaust wheel.
Hope this helps.
Well I was looking to put it on a 2.0l 4g63t, not a K20. (I know I'm out of the honda game right now, but I'll be back)
One more question for you, what is meaning of the stamp on the turbo with a
K in a triangle
or
3 K's in a triangle
And thanks for all your help.
Oh.... well, hurry back.
Anyway, the K in a triangle means the same thing as the 3 Ks in a triangle and it stands for AG Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch, they were a big independent German turbo manufacturer from the 50s to the 90s. Basically, BorgWarner Turbo Systems was formed in the 90s when BorgWarner AG bought Schwitzer Turbochargers and KKK turbochargers.
