When you pop into reverse with the car running, you say it grinds getting into it.
Does it ever actually lock in?
Or does it constantly grind?

I was hoping you guys could help. I have an k20a3 ep3. the transmission has been modifed by adding a TSX 6th gear.
for the TSX 6th i have added:
24240-PNS-000 PIECE, REVERSE SHIFT
24430-PNS-000 INTERLOCK
24201-RAS-000 FORK, FIFTH-SIXTH GEARSHIFT
23590-RAS-A00 GEAR, MAINSHAFT SIXTH
91103-RAS-003 BEARING, NEEDLE (35X41X24)
23916-PNS-000 COLLAR, DISTANCE (28X35X24)
90011-PPP-000 BOLT, SPECIAL (20X25)
23491-RAS-000 GEAR, COUNTERSHAFT SIXTH
23641-PPP-000 Single Cone Synchronizer (for the 6th gear)
And a new Synchro Spring
So here's the problem. All the forward gears (1-6), i can get in and out of easily. But when I attempt to get into reverse, it will grind everytime. The only way i can get into reverse to move the car is if I shut the car off, put the car into reverse and then turn the car back on to drive it in reverse. When the car is off, i can get out of reverse easily, but i will grind trying to get back in (w/ engine on)
I know this doesnt make any sense, but I was hoping someone could see something i don't, or offer any advice or input

with the car on, it'll grind when i try to put the car into reverse but i can fully engage reverse once i get past the grinding. once its in reverse it does not grind. it also does not grind when i shift out of reverse.
it only grinds going into reverse

Some people put it on a forward gear and then rev it a little and then switch to reverse. Try it and see if it works.
mine does the same thing...its the syncrosss but instead try going into third then back into reverse. that seems to work for me
you should be stopped when trying to put it in reverse... :-)

from time to time, in my old ep, i had the problem you mentioned. i would do the same to get into reverse.
that's the thing. the car is completely stopped. i try to put it into reverse and it will grind really bad before going into reverse.

Are you sure your shifter is FULLY shifting into place?
If you know what I mean..
like when you pull back, will it fall in place
OR does it stop short, and when you try to reveres, it grinds, your gears catches hold, then falls in place..
if you know what i mean?
