    Cold Start idle issue

When started bone cold my car seems to be dropping and resuming idle revs on its own. It starts, idles about 2k for a bit, then starts to lower the idle a little, then drops to 1k real quick, then resumes the slowly retreating idle, almost like it forgets its on the idle down for a sec or something. It does this 3 or 4 times before settling into a steady 850 rpm idle set in Kpro (its set that way because it keeps the MM inserts from rattling my steering wheel, hoping the AVIDS will lessen that here in March). I even held the peddle down a little while it did this and it still dropped.

This all just randomly started one day out of the blue. I'm not getting any CELs and there are no DTCs.

One thing I did notice, where the intake manifold meets the head there where a few mouse droppings. This concerns me a little. I've been all through as much of the harness and hoses as I can reach from the top of the motor, and don't see any sign of chewage. I have since taken more steps besides moth balls: bait and traps...
BTW, from what I've read mice REALLY love the soy based insulation on the knock sensor. Just an FYI.

Literally the last "mod" that I did to the car was to block off the AIV plugs with vacuum caps. Not sure if/why this would cause the problem.

Engine related mods: AIV plug, TB coolant plug, Icebox intake, DCRH

I have a sneaking suspicion that I(we) may need to clean the IAC valve, but I'm waiting for more experienced input.

That sounds normal, other than the mouse droppings(just think of them as sugar free goobers.....

    LOL

It can not hurt to allow some light penetrating oil to sit within the IAC overnight.

That is intended only for a constant erratic idle, not for the normal idle condition the OP has experienced.

I think I'll try a little lubrication in the IACV tomorrow. I've got 3in1, PBlaster, and WD40, which is best? I'll also check to see if my TPS is between 0 and -1 at idle in Kpro, I was reading something similar on CRSX.
