146,000 miles . . . now what? Problems/issues/maintenance Q & A.

Bought at 141k. Spark plugs where changed at 100k.

I changed the oil to 5W30 Royal Purple as soon as I got it.

At this point what kind of maintenance needs to be done at this point?

Any links to DIY would be most appreciated. I want to try and do most of it myself along with some friends. I have a Type-R Replica Full lip kit and the driver side is ripping apart. I'll have a picture up soon but I'm wondering if some bondo, sandpaper and some touch-up paint will do the trick.

I have heard that the fuel filter is due to be changed at the 140K mark. Most basic stuff you can knock out yourself, which sounds like what you are doing. Good job. It helps you get familiar with the car. I have those same rims in the matte black and love them. Enjoy your new purchase. Oh one last thing, there is a sticky link to download the service manual. That will help.

change plugs to Denso Iridium IK20's, remove and clean the throttle body and clean out the IACV. Replace your PCV valve. take your car somewhere that utilizes a BG Solvent oil flush machine. Its a machine that gets hooked up to where your oil filter goes and a hose runs down from your drain plug, it pumps a hot solvent through the engine (while the engine is off) at a pretty good psi (no more than factory psi). ive used this machine with great success on many vehicles at work including my own on my 157000 mile EJ8, engine ran much smoother afterwards, another tech in my shop used it on an F23 accord with low compression after doing the process 2x the compression was restored back into the safe zone and the car ran perfectly and stopped consuming oil. it had some stuck rings which this process free'd up. as for your serpentine belt i would still replace it as a precautionary measure just in case. Definately a good way to make sure the engine will be running top notch, good idea on the royal purple :)

oil change, trans fluid, air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, valve adjustment. fuel filter is integrated in the fuel pump assembly, might not be a bad idea to replace.
