      Getting my spare engine ready for 2012 while my sleeved engine is getting some work done

      Here it is after I removed the valve cover...


      Stripped and installing new rod bearings and rings



      Short block assembled last night, hopefully ready to install by the end of the weekend

      Sweet deal man! If you want or need some help i'm only 40 minutes out. Finally got the subframe out of my car. So next up is just swapping the other one in and i should be good to go.

      I had an aftermarket valve that failed...not normal. I made 530whp all summer 2010 with ZERO issues on a stock K20A2...but stuff does happen. Plan on running this new engine of mine for a few years on pump gas, hopefully 400whp or so. K20A3s blow up at 350+whp...just a ticking time bomb.

      Good thing my A3 is at 160hp, no ticking time bomb here. :) But i do want to go all motor K24 in the future. Those numbers sound nice!

      lol K24s have a ton of potential...but I've always loved my high reving K20 :)
