Its definitely different Mike! I'm not quite sure about it though. Have you thought about a way to combat the rust that is inevitably going to form on something like that?
I started this project thinking it was going to be awesome, but it's really *meh* to me now that it's on the car. I'll probably paint something cool on it and hang it on the wall. Don't worry about the bird shit on my front bumper, lol. Thoughts on the hood?

Yeah I'm pretty indifferent about it too, I thought I'd give someone a chance to convince me to keep it on the car or something haha. I tried to give it a coat of clear the other day but it just trashed the little bit of luster that the hood had.. it just looked like a flat silver. Rust is the other reason I think it might be destined to be a decoration instead of on the car.
some of the new convertable bentleys have the stainless steal look on the hoods maybe either polish it or grain it
it would be different look
I can't quite make up my mind. Do the rest of the car and I'll let you know.

maybe do something crazy like grafitti, designs or paint it leaving just a small portion "untouched or RAW" like the empty space on a full tatoo sleeve, and clear coat the shit out of it when done to combat rust.
Or get CF hood.
Or you could just sand all the clear off and just dump some salt water on there.

When did you get slips? Man I haven't seen that car in a second, apparently. Part of me thinks that when you're driving in direct sunlight in winter that hood would blind you. But it looks sort of cool.
edit: you STRIPPED the slips, that's why it looks different. I like em, but I'm biased.

What about some woodgrain vinyl?

that stripper may have not been the best choice if you were planning to polish. aircraft stripper would have been better, no deep scratches or swirls. u should go about 600 grit to and work you way down to 1000. are our hoods aluminum? you could get a nice finish out of it if it is. if not you could always lay a coat of clear.
^^^ woodgrain would be sick! def different. you wouldnt have had to strip it tho.
I think a polished nickle plating would look cool
